Past Perfect vs Past Simple – Completa con la forma correcta del verbo

Hi everyone! Hola a todos. My name is Mr. Pea y juntos vamos a aprender a hablar en inglés. Hoy vamos a practicar la diferencia entre el past perfect y el past simple. ¿Estáis preparadas y preparados? Here we go!

👉 Completa cada frase con la forma correcta del verbo (past perfect o past simple).

1. By the time I ______ (arrive) at the station, the train ______ already ______ (leave).

✅ By the time I arrived at the station, the train had already left.

👉 El tren salió antes de que yo llegara a la estación.

2. She ______ (finish) her homework before she ______ (watch) TV.

✅ She had finished her homework before she watched TV.

👉 Primero terminó los deberes y después vio la televisión.

3. When we ______ (get) to the cinema, the movie ______ already ______ (start).

✅ When we got to the cinema, the movie had already started.

👉 La película comenzó antes de que llegáramos.

👉 La visita a Noruega ocurrió después de todas las ocasiones anteriores de su vida.

👉 Yo no conocía la noticia hasta que mi amigo me la contó.

👉 El cansancio fue consecuencia de algo que había ocurrido antes.

👉 Aquí no hay una acción anterior a otra. Son simplemente dos acciones consecutivas en el pasado, por eso las dos van en past simple.
