    👉 Una acción ya realizada + una acción que continúa en este momento.

    💡 Acción en progreso + resultado aún no completado.

  1. We ______ (wait) for the bus, and we ______ (wait) here for over 20 minutes.

    ✅ Now I live in Madrid, and I have lived here since 1999.
    👉 El uso de  “Now” deja claro que es una situación actual, y “since 1999” conecta pasado y presente.
  1. He _________ (play) the guitar in a band now, and he _________ (play) music since he was a child."
He plays the guitar in a band now, and he has played music since he was a child.

👉 El uso de  “Now” deja claro que es una situación actual, y la segunda conecta pasado y presente.

  1. We ______ (know) each other for over  ten years now.
    ✅ We have known each other for over ten years now.
    👉 El uso de la construcción “For + periodo de tiempo ” es típica del present perfect.

    👉 At the moment marca que es present simple  y since algo que empezó en el pasado y perdura.

    👉 La primera parte habla de lo que suele hacer y la segunda habla de que hoy en concreto ha pasado otra cosa.

    👉 La primera parte pregunta por un hábito y la segunda por algo puntual de esta última semana

    La primera parte habla de lo que suele hacer y la segunda habla de que esta semana en concreto no lo ha hecho

    👉 La primera habla de algo que ha pasado y tiene vigencia en el presente y la segunda habla de horarios por lo que es present simple.

    👉 Primero hablamos de la frecuencia con la que sucede un hecho y la segunda de lo que puntualmente ha sucedido esta semana.

    La primera parte habla de hábito y la segunda de experiencias acumuladas.

    👉 “Yesterday” cierra el tiempo en el pasado, así que usamos past simple.

    👉 “Already” suele colocarse entre auxiliar y verbo principal en inglés.

    ✅ I was walking through the park when I saw an old friend.
    👉 Aquí hay una acción en progreso (was walking) que se interrumpe con la acción (saw).
  1. While she ______ (cook), the phone ______ (ring).
    ✅ While she was cooking, the phone rang.
    👉 “While” nos lleva a imaginar una acción en desarrollo, y de repente ocurre algo.
  1. They ______ (drive) home when it suddenly ______ (start) to rain.
    ✅ They were driving home when it suddenly started to rain.
    👉 Primero estaban haciendo algo, y luego pasa algo inesperado.
  1. ______ you ______ (watch) TV when I called you?

    👉 Aquí preguntamos por lo que estaba pasando

    👉 Aquí hay dos acciones ocurriendo al mismo tiempo, ambas en progreso y sin interferirse

    👉como ya hemos visto, El uso de when nos da la pista que el segundo verbo irrumpe en la acción del primero.

    👉 Algo puntual interrumpe una situación que estaba en marcha.

👉 Completa cada frase con la forma correcta de los verbos en present simple o past simple.

  1. I usually ______ (walk) to school, but yesterday I ______ (take) the bus.
    ✅ I usually walk to school, but yesterday I took the bus.
    Cuando usamos “usually”, el verbo estará en presente simple.  “yesterday” nos dice que el segundo verbo debe conjugarse en pasado
  1. She ______ (not / like) coffee, but she ______ (try) it last week.
    ✅ She does not like coffee, but she tried it last week.
    El primer verbo nos habla sobre gustos presentes, mientras que la segunda nos habla de una acción en pasado.
  1. We ______ (go) to the gym every Monday, but last Monday we ______ (stay) at home.
    ✅ We go to the gym every Monday, but last Monday we stayed at home.
    La primera parte nos habla de una rutina y por tanto debe de ir en present simple, la segunda parte habla de una acción que ocurrió y finalizó en el pasado.

    La primera parte de la oración habla de una situación pasada y la segunda habla de la situación actual.

    La primera parte habla de lo que suelen hacer habitualmente por eso está en presente, la segunda parte habla de lo que no hicieron en el pasado

    ✅ I study English at school, and I studied for two hours last night.
    La primera parte habla de una situación vigente en el presente y la segunda parte de algo que sucedió en el pasado.

    La primera parte habla de una situación en pasado mientras que la segunda habla de su situación actual.

    Las dos hablan de rutinas diaras.
