Verbo TO BE en Past Simple - Completa las oraciones con la forma correcta del verbo

Hi everyone! Hola a todos. My name is Mr. Pea y juntos vamos a aprender a hablar en inglés. Hoy vamos a practicar el past simple del verbo TO BE . ¿Estáis preparadas y preparados? Here we go!

👉 Completa cada frase con la forma correcta del verbo TO BE en pasado .

Yesterday, I ______ (be) very busy at work.

✅ Yesterday, I was very busy at work.

👉 Para la primera persona del singular (I), la forma correcta en pasado siempre es was.

They ______ (be) at the cinema last night.

✅ They were at the cinema last night.

👉 Con los pronombres en plural (they, we, you), debemos utilizar la forma were.

She ______ (be) a very quiet child when she was little.

✅ She was a very quiet child when she was little.

👉 Para la tercera persona del singular (he, she, it), volvemos a utilizar la forma was.

______  (be) you  angry with me after the meeting?

✅ Were you angry with me after the meeting?

👉 ¡Recuerda! En las preguntas cambiamos el orden y ponemos el verbo delante. Al ser el sujeto you, usamos were.

We ______ (not / be) at school on Monday because it was a day off

 ✅ We were not at school on Monday because it was a day off

👉 Para hacer la negación con sujetos en plural, añadimos not detrás de were, formando were not o su contracción weren't.

The movie ______ (be) really interesting and exciting.

✅ The movie was really interesting and exciting.

👉 "The movie" (la película) es una cosa singular, por lo tanto equivale a it y requiere el uso de was.

Where ______ (be) your keys this morning? You lost them again!

✅ Where were your keys this morning? You lost them again!

👉 Como el sujeto "your keys" (tus llaves) es plural, la forma del verbo en pasado tiene que ser were.

He ______ (not / be) at the party because he felt sick.

✅ He wasn't at the party because he felt sick.

👉 Para la tercera persona del singular en negativo, unimos was con not, dando como resultado was not o wasn't.

The windows ______ (be) open, so the room got very cold.

✅ The windows were open, so the room got very cold.

👉 ¡Mucho ojo! "The windows" (las ventanas) está en plural, así que le corresponde obligatoriamente were.

My friend ______ (be) very helpful during the accident.

✅ My friend was very helpful during the accident.

👉Como el sujeto es singular la respuesta correcta es was.
