Hi everyone! Hola a todos. My name is Mr. Pea y juntos vamos a aprender a hablar en inglés. Hoy vamos a practicar el verbo TO BE en present simple. ¿Estáis preparadas y preparados? Here we go! 

👉 Completa cada frase con la forma correcta del verbo TO BE 

She ______ (be) a doctor at the city hospital. 

✅ She is a doctor at the city hospital. 

👉 Con los pronombres de la tercera persona del singular (he, she, it), el verbo siempre es is.

They ______ (be) very happy about the good news. 

✅ They are very happy about the good news. 

👉 Para el plural (they, we, you), la forma correcta que corresponde es are.

I ______ (be) a student and I love learning languages. 

✅ I am a student and I love learning languages.

 👉 Super fácil: el pronombre I (yo) es exclusivo y siempre va acompañado de am.

 ✅ Are you ready for the exam? 

👉 ¡Atención! En las preguntas ponemos el verbo delante del sujeto. Al ser you, usamos are.

 ✅ We are not / aren't tired after the long walk. 

👉 Para negar en presente, añadimos not detrás del verbo. 

The weather ______ (be) beautiful and sunny today. 

✅ The weather is beautiful and sunny today. 

👉 "The weather" (el tiempo) equivale al pronombre impersonal it, por eso usamos is.

My parents ______ (be) from Spain. 

✅ My parents are from Spain. 

👉 ¡Cuidado aquí! "My parents" es plural (ellos), así que tenemos que utilizar are.

Where ______ (be) my keys? I can't find them. 

✅ Where are my keys? I can't find them. 

👉 Como el objeto "keys" (llaves) está en plural, la pregunta necesita el verbo en plural: are.

He ______ (not / be) at home right now; he is at work. 

✅ He isn't at home right now; he is at work. 

👉 Para la tercera persona en negativo, combinamos is con not, dando como resultado is not o isn't.

Mary and I ______ (be) best friends since childhood. 

✅ Mary and I are best friends since childhood. 

👉 ¡Frase trampa! Muchos ven "I" y quieren poner am, pero el sujeto somos "Mary y yo", es decir, nosotros (we). Por tanto, la respuesta correcta es are.
